Armenia Records Highest Passenger Traffic Growth Among Corporación América Airports
YEREVAN — Armenia recorded the highest passenger traffic growth during the second quarter of 2026 among airports operated by Corporación América Airports, the company controlled by Argentine-Armenian businessman Eduardo Eurnekian.
According to the company’s second-quarter financial results, passenger traffic in Armenia increased by 13 percent compared with the same period last year.
The growth was recorded despite flight cancellations and airspace restrictions resulting from conflict in the Middle East. In July, passenger traffic growth accelerated further, reaching 17 percent.
According to Corporación América Airports, Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport and Gyumri’s Shirak Airport handled approximately 735,000 passengers in July 2026, an increase of 17.2 percent compared with 627,000 passengers in July 2025.
The figure represents the highest monthly passenger volume ever recorded by Armenia’s airports.
The previous record was set in August 2025, when the two airports handled approximately 667,800 passengers combined.
In July 2026, Zvartnots and Shirak airports handled a total of 5,058 flights.
From January through July, combined passenger traffic at Armenia’s two airports reached 3.483 million, also setting a new record.
Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport and Gyumri’s Shirak Airport are operated by Armenia International Airports, a company owned by Eduardo Eurnekian’s Corporación América Airports.
